Enhancing Road Safety Awareness through VR at CCED Sites

Global Enterprises, through its innovative VIRSAT VR training platform, successfully conducted a Virtual Reality (VR)-based HSE safety engagement at CCED operational sites, covering Block 4 (Shahad) and Block 3 (Farha).

The initiative was led in collaboration with Ms. Bushra Al Dhakhri, HSE Support Specialist at CCED, to strengthen road safety awareness through immersive and interactive learning experiences.

Immersive Hazard Recognition on Blacktop & Graded Roads

The VR sessions were designed around both blacktop highways and graded desert road driving conditions, enabling participants to experience real-life risk scenarios in a safe, controlled environment.

Key training outcomes included:

• Improved Hazard Recognition: Identifying obscured terrain hazards, dust washouts, and line-of-sight obstacles before they become critical.
• Decisive Decision-Making: Experiencing dynamic rollover risks, sudden stops, and emergency avoidance under realistic physical feedback.
• Reinforcing Defensive Driving Habits: Translating theoretical safe driving protocols into persistent muscle memory.

Comprehensive Workforce Participation

The engagement witnessed active participation across all operational workforce categories, including:

• Field Drivers & Heavy Equipment Operators
• Rig & Well-Pad Field Personnel
• Site HSE Officers & Safety Supervisors
• Technical Operations & Logistics Staff

Participants actively engaged with the VIRSAT system, with many highlighting the realism and practical value of the simulations in enhancing their day-to-day risk awareness on interior concession roads.
